The steady political and economic conditions
of Uruguay,
together with freedom of capital flows and equal treatment
of foreign and domestic capitals, make Uruguay a strategic
financial center in the region.
From an institutional perspective, Montevideo Bursátil
is
integrated to Uruguay´s capital markets through its membership
in the Montevideo Stock Market, and registration at the
Central Bank of Uruguay (B.C.U.) as a Stock Brokerage
Company. In turn, the B.C.U. regulates and monitors the
Montevideo Stock Exchange, setting operative guidelines,
controling its workings, and establishing regulations to
prevent money laundering and terrorism financing.
